An “Interesting” Day
Today has been interesting, so far, in the sense of the Chinese curse. It started off with a radiology treatment, since they were closed Monday and Tuesday for the Independence Day holiday. Not a problem, though also not the way I care to spend part of the weekend … or it wasn’t a problem till the car decided not to start.
Nothing we did could persuade it to run, so I called the neighbor, and she was kind enough to give me a ride all the way to Dover for it (this was about 7:00, for a 7:30 appointment; I was only 6 minutes late, by a miracle), and later, when the car parts stores opened, her husband took Ron to Milford to get a starter. We’d had to do an emergency repair on the old one last week, but we were hoping to get a break before having to get a new one.
Then, once we got it in, we discovered there was also an electrical problem.
Once Ron troubleshot that and fixed it, we think we’re probably in pretty good shape. I just hope we don’t find out otherwise the hard way!
Thank all the gods for wonderful neighors (and landlords) like Carl and Audrey!
