Fiber Find

20 July 2006

I was going through some boxes this afternoon, trying to see if there was any of that trash fleece left (this being trash day, I could get rid of more of it), and found a whole box of combed black fleece!  I think it’s Borderdale, but absent-minded me forgot to label the box.  Dumb!

Once the fleece is combed, a boxful the size to hold 2500 sheets of computer paper isn’t really that much, but I should be able to get 2-3 bobbins-full from it.  YAY!

Words, Words, and More Words

I just rediscovered a fun site I’d forgotten about for some time, called Word Spy.  As the name says, it’s all about words; to quote the website itself:

"This Web site is devoted to lexpionage, the sleuthing of new words and phrases. These aren’t "stunt words" or "sniglets," but new terms that have appeared multiple times in newspapers, magazines, books, Web sites, and other recorded sources."

Check it out — hopefully you’ll find it as enjoyable as I do!

(Why the link isn’t "taking" I don’t know — until I get back from the doctor and running errands, and have more time to try figuring it out, just copy the URL into your browser.  Sorry!)

UPDATE: I still can’t figure it out; from everything I can see, and what I can find in my "Idiot’s Guide to HTML", the format is correct … hmm.  Looking at a very dim icon on the edit screen, I wonder …

Yeah, at least from the Preview, that looks like it worked!
