Do You Have Royal Blood? Probably So!

13 August 2006

According to this story, anyway.  Here’s an extract:

"Take King Edward III, who ruled England during the 14th century and had nine children who survived to adulthood. Among his documented descendants are presidents (George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams, Zachary Taylor, both Roosevelts), authors (Jane Austen, Lord Byron, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Elizabeth Barrett Browning), generals (Robert E. Lee), scientists (Charles Darwin) and actors (Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, Brooke Shields). Some experts estimate that 80 percent of England’s present population descends from Edward III."

And that’s just one king!  Boggles the mind, it does — but we all have lots of ordinary-folk ancestors, too, and probably notorious criminals as well.

Wing Found

Not recovered, but found, well up in a "pole" tree, and in pretty bad shape.  Looks like it’s going to take a wing kit to get the Senior back in the air.  We’re still hoping to recover the wing, though, because it does have 4 servos in it.

Today was the second time we’ve seen one of these flown, and we’re discussing getting one ourselves.  (That ought to be interesting; Mr. Empire likes to really stunt, and I’d much rather detune it to fly in a more civilized manner — some minor aerobatics, maybe, but definitely not 3-D style!  My reflexes just aren’t that good.)
